Meet Keri Ascott-Evans, stay at home mom of 3 and this month SPM Mom of the Month.
Tell us about yourself and what you do with your family?
I am a stay at home mom to two boys (8 & 6) and a girl (2). My kids and their schedules keep me very busy. I enjoy being at home with my kids, doing all sorts of craft activities. I am an avid crafter and fortunately my kids take a keen interest. They are always asking to make something or do some crafting with me. When we are not at home, we can usually be found at one of the many beautiful locations around the peninsula. My boys love to go fishing at Simonstown Yacht Club, or bike riding at the wetlands in Clovelly or the bike track in Silverglades. We love to walk the dogs at the beach or grab a bite to eat at Imhoff’s Blue Water Cafe.
Why do you live in the deep South?
For that feeling that you get when you drive round the corner from Kalk Bay into Fish Hoek. That feeling of being home and holiday all at once.
What is the best advice you ever received from your mother?
I still get advice from my mother, so there are too many things to mention, but my paternal grandmother often used to say – always look after your teeth, they’re the only set you’ve got!
